Had a great time here with my family. The food was amazing (loved the kottu and the pork and my youngest loved the string hoppers and chickpea curry). Everyone made us feel really welcome and looked after us!! Will definitely be back soon!

Really delicious food. You can ask to have your food made according to your spice tolerance as everything is freshly made. The prawn curry had big prawns not those tiny things which one often finds and they were cooked to perfection. Also recommend the paratha which were light and flakey.

Had our first meal here, absolutely love the flavors , comfy chairs, we've not tried Indonesian good before, will definitely be back.we prefer to go to a restaurant and have a takeaway. So much more enjoyable.

Had the food here recommended by a few people. It didn't disappoint. Really enjoyed the chicken roll for starters. The lentil rolls were tasty but a little dry. The aubergine ratatouille was almost sweet and sour. I really enjoyed the devilled chicken and chicken rice. Friendly staff and prompt service. Ate with people who'd travelled there who felt it was very similar to food they had experienced in Sri Lanka.

The staff are incredibly attentive, friendly, and always happy to offer recommendations or explain dishes, especially helpful if you're new to Sri Lankan cuisine. One of the great things is that they ask about your preferred spice level, so every dish can be adjusted to your taste whether you like it mild or love it hot! The food is truly exceptional. We had the Polos Kottu (young jackfruit), an absolute standout with incredible depth of flavor. The chickpea curry was rich, hearty, and perfectly spiced. For dessert, the Watalappan (a spiced coconut custard pudding) was smooth and indulgent, and the Sri Lankan curd with kithul treacle offered a refreshing and traditional finish to the meal. Each dish is beautifully presented and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. You can tell the chefs take pride in delivering authentic Sri Lankan flavours with care and consistency. Moonstone isn’t just for Sri Lankans, it’s for anyone who loves bold, vibrant, and delicious food. Whether you’re a seasoned fan of Sri Lankan cuisine or trying it for the first time, the experience is warm, inclusive, and absolutely satisfying. It does get quite busy on Friday and Saturday evenings, so it’s a good idea to make a reservation if you can especially if you’re going with a group. The atmosphere is lively but cozy, perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. A must-visit in Hove for anyone who appreciates amazing food and heartfelt service.

We were visiting Brighton as a group of 20 people and got in touch with Moonstone to arrange a delivery. From the get go Dimuth could not have been more helpful, even going as far as making a dish that was not on the menu for us (Kottu). The food arrived and every single person could not stop raving about it. I only wish we had ordered more as there wasn't a crumb left. Thank you so much - if we are ever in Brighton again we will all be back! 10/10 - recommend!

We love this restaurant! Discovered it last year when visiting Brighton and made a point of coming back. We had never tried Sri Lankan food before so it was really interesting to have a change from Indian/Thai curries and try something new. The food is delicious and can all the dishes can be made more or less spicy according to your taste. Nice decor and great service too.

Had been passed this restaurant a few times and seen it was always busy, looked at reviews and seemed impressive so we gave it a try. Very impressed. Tasty food, Sri Lankan being surprisingly different to Indian. Very friendly service from the young staff. Overall, excellent, will definitely visit again..
